Save Banner Forest
Roots for Our Future

Kitsap County plans to remove up to 50% of the trees
across 519 acres in Banner Forest Heritage Park beginning in 2026, a project driven by revenue from commercial logging.

With enough community support, we can safeguard this forest, this shared heritage,
and the life it sustains.

HELP IS URGENTLY NEEDED

What Is Banner Forest?

Banner Forest Heritage Park is a 635-acre protected forest in Port Orchard, Washington, known for its extensive network of multi-use trails. It includes mature wooded areas and fragile wetlands that support a diverse ecosystem and offer peaceful spaces for the community.

Visitors come to Banner Forest to hike, mountain bike, ride horses, run, meditate, explore nature, and find quiet refuge. The park exists today thanks to a decade-long community effort that preserved the land from development in 2000, a testament to how deeply this forest is woven into local history and community identity.

Our Mission

Save Banner Forest is dedicated to protecting and conserving Banner Forest Heritage Park through advocacy for passive management strategies that allow natural processes to restore and sustain its diverse ecosystem.

We oppose commercial-scale thinning that risks invasive species proliferation, heightened fire danger, and profit-driven exploitation, ensuring this cherished public space remains a thriving haven for recreation, biodiversity, and community enjoyment.
